Renewable energy development applications

The planning fee discount of 30% for renewable energy development applications provided by EnergyCo and the Department of Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure (DPHI) has now ceased. 

A change management period was implemented to ensure fair and reasonable access to the discount. 

The planning fee discount, funded through an MOU between EnergyCo and DPHI, played a significant role in promoting development within the Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) and the transition of NSW’s electricity system.

 While the discount has now ceased, EnergyCo and DPHI remain committed to supporting development within the state's REZs.
