The Network Infrastructure Strategy is one part of a coordinated, iterative planning regime for our energy system. It complements and informs the consumer trustee's Infrastructure Investment Objectives Report, which guides investment in generation, storage and firming infrastructure in NSW.
Future editions of the Network Infrastructure Strategy will be prepared every two years and will explore in more detail emerging technologies and market developments, including offshore wind, green hydrogen, and long-duration storage.
As the Infrastructure Planner, EnergyCo will continue to engage closely with community and industry stakeholders to ensure that new network infrastructure is developed in the right place, at the right time.

Consultation on the Draft Network Infrastructure Strategy for NSW
Consultation has been central to the development of the strategy. We released the Draft Network Infrastructure Strategy for public consultation between 30 September and 4 November 2022. We received over 40 submissions from industry, network businesses, community associations, individuals, advocacy groups, local councils, and government bodies.
The major themes in the submissions indicated overall support for the strategy, request for further details, and both communities and industry welcome further engagement.
The Network Infrastructure Strategy incorporates this feedback and foreshadows future iterations to continue working to address the issues raised. See the Network Infrastructure Strategy for further details on how the feedback has been addressed.
