Working with the community in the South West Renewable Energy Zone

The South West REZ will bring significant private investment, community benefits and employment opportunities to the region.

Our approach to consultation

Part of our role as infrastructure planner for the South West REZ involves working closely with the community and local businesses to maximise benefits and minimise impacts.

Local information sessions

We’re working with our project partners to host information sessions in towns closest to  the South West REZ generation and storage projects with access rights, in Hay, Jerilderie and Coleambally.

These informal information events will provide an opportunity for local residents to be updated on the South West Renewable Energy Zone and hear from Transgrid and the 4 projects that have been granted access rights.

Upcoming consultation on the Community and Employment Benefit Program

The NSW Government has legislated funding for community and employment purposes in the South West REZ.

The Community and Employment Benefit Program is funded by our generator project partners through access fees.

We’ll soon consult the local community to understand how we should deliver our Community and Employment Benefit Program across the South West REZ.
