Three contractors shortlisted to deliver Newcastle Logistics Precinct

A major milestone has been reached in the delivery of the Newcastle Logistics Precinct (NLP), with three construction contractors shortlisted to progress to the next stage of EnergyCo's procurement process.

Following a competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) process involving ten submissions from contractors across Australia, BMD, Fulton Hogan/Daracon Joint Venture, and Georgiou have been shortlisted to participate in the Request for Tender (RFT) phase.

The shortlisted contractors were selected following a detailed evaluation process undertaken in accordance with NSW Government procurement requirements, EnergyCo's approved evaluation plan and independent probity oversight.

Each contractor demonstrated strong capability and experience in delivering complex civil infrastructure projects, along with a clear understanding of the project's technical, environmental and construction requirements.

The shortlisted contractors will now prepare detailed tender submissions as part of the formal Request for Tender (RFT) process. Submissions will be assessed against a range of criteria, including technical capability, project delivery approach and value for money, before EnergyCo selects a preferred delivery partner.

The procurement process will also help identify opportunities for local suppliers and businesses to participate in the delivery of the project.

The procurement process will continue through 2026 and into 2027, with the successful contractor expected to be announced following completion of the tender evaluation process.

Newcastle Logistics Precinct Environmental Impact Statement is now closed

The public exhibition for the environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Newcastle Logistics Precinct is now closed.  

Submissions received during the exhibition period will now be reviewed as part of the planning assessment process. We will continue to update the community as the project progresses.
